You didn't think we were going to leave you hanging during spooky season, did you?!
Just in time for Halloween weekend [Halloweekend] we have got three killer drinks to mix up with whomever you are celebrating. You can also check out our Instagram for videos on how to make them.
Okay, this one's for all the rum fans out there. We know you don’t get as much love and attention as you deserve. This drink features two kinds of rum, your classic white rum- think Bacardi or Flor de Cana- but it also features a spiced rum. The spiced rum is a nice fall flavor and gives the drink a little kick at the end. We added a spritz of lustre dust (edible glitter) to give it that “just missed a witch fly by” kind of vibe.
- 2 oz Rum
- 1 oz Blackberry Mint Syrup
- 1 tsp honey syrup (1:1 honey & water)
- 2 dashes angostura bitters
- Slash of spiced rum
Add all ingredients to shaker tins with ice. Shake vigorously for 6-8 seconds. Fine strain “up” into coupe style glass. For extra fun, sprinkle with lustre dust!
Margaritas are for every season. Try and change our minds. We subbed out the normal Triple Sec for a splash of Naranja, to give the margarita a true orange texture. The naranja pairs really nicely with the muddled strawberries; those flavors tend to agree with each other. We added some vampire teeth as a garnish for extra spook, but feel free to get creative and rim with red sugar or salt! You could even throw some red drippy icing on the side to look a little bloody. We hope you take the skeleton of this recipe and run with it [or from it ;)].
MARG AFTER MIDNIGHT
- 2 oz Tequila
- ½ oz Naranja
- ½ oz Strawberry Basil Syrup
- 1 oz Lime Juice
- Strawberries Muddled
Muddle strawberries in bottom of a rocks glass. In a separate shaker tin, add the remaining ingredients. Add ice and shake for 6-8 seconds. Add fresh ice to rocks glass and strain mixture into glass. Cheers!
We did in fact save the best for last, because we are kind of obsessed with this recipe. The Black Widow, as we have affectionately named it, is on our halloween cocktail list but don’t be surprised if it just-oop- shows up on our fall cocktail lists as well, because it honestly kind of tastes like a blackberry pie. And that’s not something to be left behind or forgotten. The vanilla balances out the vodka and lemon juice nicely, and that cinnamon sugar rim is *chefs kiss*. We hope you’ll batch this up big and share it with all of your friends this weekend.
- 1 tsp vanilla
- ¾ oz Blackberry Mint Syrup
- 1 oz Vodka
- ½ oz Lemon Juice
- Cinnamon + Sugar
Rim glass with cinnamon sugar. Muddle blackberries in shaker. Add vanilla, vodka, syrup, and citrus. Add ice to shaker & shake vigorously for 6-8 seconds. Pour entire mixture into glass & enjoy!
There you have it, three delicious cocktails that are spooky themed, but are so simple to make they shouldn’t leave you spooked. We hope you have a safe and fun Halloweekend and we’ll see you on the blog next time for more ways to #mixmindfully.
